The Miyagi Sports Association, a public interest incorporated foundation, has established a symbol mark to commemorate the 5th anniversary of the merger of the Miyagi Sports Promotion Foundation and the Miyagi Prefecture Sports Association in April 2022, and to promote understanding of the philosophy and activities of the association.
The symbol mark was created based on the design by Akiha Abe, a third-year student at Miyagino High School, who won the Grand Prize from among 22 entries mainly from high school students in Miyagi Prefecture, under the supervision of Professor Fumiko Tsurumaki of Tohoku Seikatsu Bunka University, who was one of the judges.
about the symbol mark
The "M" of Miyagi Prefecture is superimposed on the crescent moon of the roof of Miyagi Stadium to express a powerful sense of dynamism. The colors and shapes represent sports and culture, yellow represents the bright future, and blue represents the blue sky and a sense of freshness.
The small green circle represents the fair spirit and peace of sports and culture, and the large red circle represents passion. The red circle represents passion and enthusiasm. The overlapping of the two symbols represents the creation of an inspiring space through sports and culture for many residents of the prefecture, from children to adults, for a bright future.
