I live in Tolima - Colombia. The flag of Tolima can be
see at my site <www.cibertol.com>.
Eduardo Lo'pez, 11 March 2000
From <www.cibertol.com>:
"Adopted by the Department of Tolima, consists of two
horizontal bands, one red-wine coloured symbolising the blood
spilt by the heroes of Tolima in the struggle for independenvce
and the other yellow symbolising the mineral wealth of the
department."
Translated by Stephan Hurford, 16 March 2000
The image forwarded from <www.cibertol.com>
was maroon over yellow, but the text says "color
vinotinto", which means red wine color. I guess that no wine
is really marron.
António Martins , 30 April 2000
There seems to be a confusion on the color used, as
"vinotinto" gets translated as "red wine".
Well, a "vino tinto" is indeed a red wine, but the
color "vinotinto" is maroon. Actually a websafe
color that seems better to me would be: red: 60%, (153), green:
0%, (0), blue: 20%, (51).

Today during the inauguration of the Governor of the Department of Tolima and
its capital Ibagué, one can see their respective
sashes, which are the same colors of the flags with their respective Coats of
Arms, as seen
here. (Governor of Tolima on the left and Mayor of Ibagué on the right )
