The flag and arms of Cardeñosa de Volpejera, originally approved on 11 September 2019 by the Municipal Council, are prescribed by an Agreement adopted on 16 April 2020 by the Village Council and published on 24 April 2020 in the official gazette of Castilla y León, No. 82, p. 14,367 (text).
The symbols are described as follows:
Flag: Rectangular panel, in proportions 3:2 (length on width). Horizontally divided yellow, red and green, from top to bottom, and charged in the center with the municipal coat of arms.
Coat of arms: Per pale, 1. Or a fox passant sable surrounded dexter by a thistle vert, 2. Gules two swords crossed in saltire each surmounted by a royal crown open or. The shield surmounted by a Royal Spanish crown closed.
The first quarter is a kind of rebus of the village's name, which was established in a place rich in thistles (cardos) and foxes (volpes).
The second quarter recalls the battle fought in 1072 by Alfonso VI, King of León, and Sancho II, King of Castile, during the struggle for the inheritance of their father, Ferdinand I. Supported by El Cid, Sancho defeated his brother.
