Prefectural Flag : Graphic design of the characters for "Ishikawa" on a blue background. The blue background represents the natural elements of the Japan sea, the rich nature and clean water, and clear air that bless Ishikawa.

The flag has a white prefecture symbol on a ocean blue background. The
construction sheet has the blue color as 5B 5/12 in Munsell. Not much is
said of the height of the prefecture symbol, but the flag ratio is given as 31:44.

The prefecture flag was adopted on Oct 1st 1972 by Gazette. The emblem is
stylized kanji 石川 Ishikawa and the prefecture form.

Ishikawa Prefecture (石川県国体旗): three vertical stripes of red, white and blue with a white triangle both sides and the kanji 石川 in black vertically.

This flag serves not only as the National Sports Festival (Kokutai) flag, it serves as the main flag of the Ishikawa Sports Association.
