Shield Argent a walnut tree Gules leafed Vert and fruited Or flanked by two crosses patty Gules each charged with a cross couped Argent, issuant from the base a mound Sable. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) "NOGUEIRA DA MONTANHA"
Meaning:
The phrase "nogueira da montanha" means "walnut tree of the mountain"; these arms are therefore partly canting. The cross is that one of the Order of the Knights of Christ (Ordem dos Cavaleiros de Cristo), yet another medieaval warrior-monk order, see here.

Nogueira da Montanha was one of the 30 communes of Chaves Municipality not affected by the 2013 changes ; it had 461 inhabitants in 2021 and covers 16.67 km².
