Meaning:
The charges are representing the pre-2013 independent communes. The belfry is representing Mêda, the fountains Fonte Longa, mount and cat Outeiro de Gatos.

Meaning:
The commune's name means "hill of cats". Cats and mount are thus canting elements. The fountain is referring to local hot springs.
