The City of Rancho Mirage is located 120 miles southeast of Los Angeles; 275 miles northwest of Phoenix; and 125 miles north of San Diego. Located in the heart of the Coachella Valley, Rancho Mirage is nestled at the base of the Santa Rosa Mountains, conveniently located to utilize the Southern California freeway system, one of the most extensive transportation networks in the world via Interstate 10. It was incorporated on August 3, 1973. Population (in 2003) was 14,965 permanent residents +11,000 residents during the winter season.
City Flag:

I can confirm that flag. There are three flagpoles at the entrance to the park and one of the flags on them is that of Rancho Mirage.
