Neuried Coat of Arms

Shield Argent a pale Azure, charged with a bulrush Or.
Meaning:
Neuried was established on 1 January 1973 by a merger of the municipalities of Altenheim, Dundenheim, Ichenheim and Müllen. The new name was referring to the location in the level country of the Rhine and the reed (German: Ried) in the local marshes. The blue pale is a representation of the Rhine and the bulrush is representing the reed areas in the municipality. Reed in Germany is quasi a synonym for bulrush.
