Shield Argent, issuant from a lawn Vert an oak Vert with eight leaves of the same and four acorns fruited Or, at dexter a sinister facing impending fish embowed Gules.
Meaning:
Until 1652 the name of the settlement had been Bötzow. It gained proper arms in 1548. The current charges already had been in those arms as follows: a red fish symbolising the right of fishery, an oak symbolising the right of wood cutting and forestry, and six bulrushes symbolising the right of reed cutting. In 1937 the bulrushes had been replaced by acorns and the fish turned to blue. In 1980 the red colour of the fish was restored.

The current arms were approved on 26 February 1993. The former arms and the former flag were adopted 1937. The red-white flag colours were fixed in 1932, changed in 1937 and restored in 1980.
