Symbols of Antas

The flag and arms of Antas, adopted on 12 March 1998 by the Municipal Council, taking into account corrections suggested on 8 June 1995 by the Royal Academy of Cordóba, are prescribed by Decree No. 157, adopted on 21 July 1998 by the Government of Andalusia and published on 22 August 1998 in the official gazette of Andalusia, No. 94, p. 10,889 (text). This was confirmed by a Decree adopted on 30 November 2004 by the Government of Andalusia and published on 20 December 2004 in the official gazette of Andalusia, No. 246, pp. 28,986-29,002 (text).
The symbols are described as follows:

Flag: Rectangular flag, in proportions 1:2, orange. In the middle is placed the municipal coat of arms, in height 1/2 of the flag's hoist.
Coat of arms: Per pale, 1. Purpure a field tent or ensigned with the letters "F" and "Y" of the same, in base waves argent and azure, 2. Vert two orange tree flowers proper per pale. The shield surmounted by a Royal crown closed.

The waves represent the river. The tent and the letters recall the conquest of Vera by the Catholic Monarchs, Vera being located close and historically related to Antas. Oranges are the main crop in the municipality.
