Regional sailing leagues

The French Sailing Federation tutors leagues organized in each administrative Region; the regional leagues have local competences, especially in competition management and yachting training.

Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Sailing League

The Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Sailing League (Ligue de Voile Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, website) groups 57 sailing clubs.

The flag of the league (photo, photo) is white with its new emblem.
The emblem is compliant with the new "visual identity" adopted in December 2012 by the French Sailing Federation: for each regional league, the emblem of the mother federation is retained, with "LIGUE" added above "FF", and the name of the Region is added beneath "Voile". Each league is assigned a color, here, green, used in the second sail forming the "V" of "FFV" and in the additional writing.

The Brittany Sailing League (Ligue Bretonne de Voile, website), based in Brest, represents some 30% of the members of the French Sailing Federation and more than 185 clubs.

The flag of the Brittany Sailing League (photo, photo, photo, photo, photo, photo, photo, photo) is white with its new emblem. Oddly enough, the emblem is not compliant with the new "visual identity" adopted in December 2012 by the French Sailing Federation.
The emblem features a nice sail-shaped ermine spot in three colors, blue, black and green. The name of the league is written in black on the right side of the sail. The URL of the league's website is written in blue beneath the whole.

The former flag of the League (photo), was white with a blue saltire, charged on its ascending arm with the white writing "VOILE - BRETAGNE" and cantonned with the emblem of the League.
The emblem of the League is an elegant variation of the Breton ermine spot, whose lower part is shaped like a blue and red sailboat. The three lozenges of the ermine spot are blue on the emblem; however, on the flag, the upper lozenge is blue while the two other are red. The colors of the lozenges are confirmed by D. Kervella and M. Bodlore-Penlaez (Guide des drapeaux bretons et celtes)

Former regional sailing leagues

Some regional leagues were reorganized or suppressed following the 2015 reform that merged some regions.

The Alpes-Provence Sailing League (Ligue Alpes-Provence de Voile, website) was in charge of sailing in the Departments of Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, Hautes-Alpes, Bouches-du-Rhône and Vaucluse, that is the "Provence-Alpes" component of Region Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur. The league encompasses 52 clubs and nearly 16,000 members.
The Alpes-Provence and Côte-d'Azur leagues were merged on 12 March 2011 to form the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur Sailing League.

The flag of the League (photos, August 2008) was white with the logo of the League.
The logo of the League is made of a stylized blue pennant, "Voile" (Sailing) in blue letters, except the "V", bigger, in red, and a blue rectangle charged with the white writing "LIGUE / ALPES . PROVENCE", "LIGUE" being separated from the two other words by the base of the red "V".

The Poitou-Charentes Sailing League (Ligue Poitou-Charente de Voile, website) is based in La Rochelle.

The flag of the League (photos, August 2008) is white with the logo of the League.
The logo of the League is made of a rectangle horizontally divided light blue (sky) and blue (sea), with five white triangular sails, three small in the background and two bigger in the foreground, over the biggest sail a red diagonal curved stripe, probably alluding to the former Region's flag. The name of the League is written in blue letters on the right of the emblem, on three lines (LIGUE / POITOU-CHARENTES / DE VOILE).
On the flag, the light blue and blue fields are separated by a thin white line, which does not appear on the printed logo of the League.
