On 1 January 2012 the commune of Font became part of Estavayer-le-Lac.
The emblem of Estavayer-le-Lac was supplemented with the spur wheel from Font's old emblem.
This motif was adopted from the emblem of the former Lords of Font and Molière. It appears also in the emblems of the
Fribourg communes of e.g. Murist, Châbles, Châtillon,
Font, Lully or Ménières.
On 1 January 2017 Estavayer-le-Lac merged with Bussy, Morens, Murist, Rueyres-les-Prés,
Vernay and Vuissens (see below), and formed the new commune of Estavayer.
Per pale Gules and Argent three bars wavy of the first, overall a Double Rose of the first barbed and
seeded proper.

The commune of Murist now includes former commune of Franex. No new flag has been adopted as the new
entity has taken over the flag of Murist.

Montbrelloz (see below).

From 1322 to 1556 the Order was the patron of the local church. It also owned a house in
Montbrelloz which belonged to the Langue of Auvergne. The rose in the arms commemorates the lords
of Estavayer. Montbrelloz belonged to their territory in the 13th century.
